Not everyone is a fashion model, so LIDZ are made from 1/2" thick HDPE material instead of 3/8" for added strength.
The "Blood Groove" helps keep unwanted juices and guts out. Not only are LIDZ stronger, but they are also heavier and field tests have proven that it stays in place at higher speeds and rougher seas.
